BREAKING: ICC suspect Lawyer Paul Gicheru dies mysteriously at his Karen home

Paul Gicheru, a lawyer and potential suspect before the International Criminal Court, has passed away.

On Monday night, Gicheru’s body was discovered at his Karen residence.

Gicheru, according to police, was discovered dead following a suspected poisoning.

“He had late lunch and felt unwell and went to bed but he did not wake up,” police said.

He was discovered unresponsive at around 7 o’clock, according to police, who do not yet know what killed him.

“His son too collapsed and was taken to Karen hospital in stable condition,” police stated.

It is still unclear what caused the death.

Later, when they got on the site, the police declared that an investigation had begun.

While reporters were being held up outside his gate, the family announced that they will speak to the media on Tuesday.

Following the issuance of an arrest order by Pre-Trial Chamber II of the ICC on March 10, 2015, Gicheru turned himself in to the ICC on November 2, 2020.

By corruptly influencing court witnesses, the Kenyan attorney was charged with offenses against the administration of justice.

He is accused of paying witnesses to either retract their testimony or decline to testify, in the crimes against humanity case against President William Ruto and former journalist Joshua Sang.
