Bright Girl from Humble Family Scores A in 2021 KCSE After Getting KCPE Scholarship

On Saturday, April 23, when Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha revealed the KCSE results, parents and guardians were excited to see how their children fared.

Lynn Kawira’s parents and a guardian were among those who awarded her a fully funded four-year scholarship after she excelled in her KCPE exams in 2017.

Following a mean grade of A with 82 points in the 2021 KCSE exams, Kawira has once again made them proud, as her guardian – Meru MCA Kiogoria Matae – shared.

“Congratulations to Lynn Nyawira from Bubui for scoring an A of 82 points at Chogoria Girls,” read a Facebook post accompanying photos of his pledge in 2017.

“Lynn has been enjoying a full scholarship from my office. Remember her from December2017? She was the best in Abogeta West with 434 in KCPE! Glory to God,” the post read on.

In 2017, Kiogoria paid a visit to Lynn’s family after the KCPE results were revealed, and he discovered she was the best student in his ward when he found she came from a poor home.

Lynn had two other siblings in high school at the time, and her mother was considering sending her to a nearby school owing to a lack of funds.

Her siblings had amassed school fee balances as well, which their mother had yet to pay.

The Abogeta West ward MCA then promised to sponsor her secondary school through the Ward Development Fund, while the Kiraitu Murungi Foundation promised to help her with shopping costs.
