Diamond Platnumz’s message to Kenyans after electing Ruto

Following the announcement of the presidential election results this evening, Diamond Platnumz has extended a congratulations message to Kenyans.

Wafula Chebukati, an IEBC commissioner, formally inaugurated Dr. William Ruto as Kenya’s fifth president.

The head of the WCB urged Kenyans in a message to maintain peace at this time so that the nation may keep progressing.

“PONGEZI sana wana Kenya kwa kuhitimisha zoezi la uchaguzi na kumpata rais leo. Sasa hivi tena sio Team Ruto, Wajackoyah ama team Raila Odonga. Ni kwa pamoja kuendeleza maendeleo ya kenya na wana kenya kwa ujumla.”

(Congratulations Kenyans for completeing the elections process and getting your president. It is no longer about Team Raila, Ruto, Wajackoya but as one Kenya to push the country ahead as Kenyans.)

According to IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati, in the Bomas of Kenya national tallying center, Ruto received 7,176,141 votes, or 50.49 percent of the total vote, while Raila received 6,942,930 votes, or 48.85 percent.

Raila Odinga, 77, who was once a fierce and recognizable opposition leader who had lost five elections prior to this one, was beaten by William Ruto.
