James Osogo, former Bunyala MP and cabinet minister in Jomo Kenyatta’s government, has died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, his family has confirmed.
He died at the age of 90.
Osogo was one of the surviving ministers in the late President Jomo Kenyatta’s first cabinet.
He died at 3.30pm while receiving treatment in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
The former legislator’s son, Omar Osogo, told NTV that the deceased had been in and out of the hospital.
He added that his father was admitted to the hospital after suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
The illness caused Osogo to suffer multiple organ failure, which led to his demise.
