, the controversial MCA of Kipkenyo ward in Uasin Gishu county has expressed his optimism ahead of his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
According to the outspoken MCA, he is not scared of the grades he will receive after sitting for the exams.
Kokwas has since confirmed that he has enrolled for the form four examination at Uasin Gishu primary school next year.
“I have no problem getting an E grade when I sit for my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination next year,” Kokwas said.
Adding:
“For now, my biggest worry is how to deliver all the pre-election promises I made to my employers and that is why I am working hard to ensure that all that I promised my people is fulfilled to the letter.”
Maintaining that one does not have to have good academic qualifications to become a good leader boasted that he floored more than ten opponents, some of whom possess diplomas, bachelor’s and master’s degree certificates in the last general election.
“During the last general election, I defeated my opponents who held impressive academic papers as opposed to I who only scored 150 marks in the KCPE exam during the last general election,” said Kokwas.
Speaking to the media in Eldoret yesterday, Kokwas claimed that he has been able to serve the people in his ward better than his educated counterparts in other wards.
Kokwas asserted that education should not be used to bar good leaders from seeking elective political seats in the country.
“I have no plan of passing the KCSE exam, my dream is to just acquire a form four certificate with an E grade, “said an excited Kokwas.
The MCA told off those critical of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi’s academic credentials saying the documents should not be used to gauge his leadership and development record.
“The people of Kapseret are not bothered with the academic papers but the goodies the MP is bringing to them and that is why they have elected him for three consecutive terms,” said Kokwas.
The fiery Kapseret MP is under trial for three counts of forging academic certificates.
Sudi is accused of fraudulently obtaining a KCSE certificate from Highway Secondary School and Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
The Kenya Kwanza lawmaker is also accused of forging a diploma certificate in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management.
The other offence is presenting the alleged forged education papers to the Independent Electoral and BC when he sought clearance for the 2013 general election.
During his trial in court, an investigator who testified against the MP said he dropped out of school at class seven and might have not proceeded to secondary school.
