Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders apologizes as they deny supporting Raila Odinga

Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders have denied rumors that they had supported Raila Odinga for presidency, claiming that they had only given him permission to ask for votes from the Meru community.

They also vowed to support the court’s chosen president and encouraged Kenyans to keep the peace while they awaited the decision.

The elders also apologized to Meru governor-elect Kawira Mwangaza for their past mistakes and pledged their support for her as she forms the government.

The elders promised the governor-elect that they would back her wholeheartedly going forward.

The council had earlier endorsed previous governor Kiraitu Murungi as their choice governor for 2022 at their holy shrine.
