Andrew Kibe Celebrates Bahati’s Defeat in Mathare MP Race

People, except Andrew Kibe, were excited to see artists vie for political seats in the just concluded electioneering period.

According to Kibe, actors and musicians should just stick to their craft and avoid politics.

His opinion is understandable, considering he once ran for Langata parliamentary seat and lost.

He was among the few to be disappointed when Jalang’o joined politics and won the Lang’ata parliamentary seat after trouncing Nixon Korir whom people believed would win.

Well, Kibe is back again to celebrate.

This time around he celebrated singer Bahati’s defeat in his political bid to clinch the Mathare North parliamentary seat.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kibe acknowledged that Bahati could be heartbroken after working hard to win but emphasized that it was good that he had lost.

“Bahanye didn’t win so at least we have something to celebrate. I don’t know what to feel for you. I know you put a lot of effort into it and you feel very disappointed,”he said.

He went on to encourage Bahati to move on and avoid being bitter because the people had rejected him. He advised him not to take the loss to heart since politics is a dirty game and should not be taken seriously.

He said, “It felt good for the moment that it lasted, till next time. Take your hands put them down your pants and cup your nuts and realize that you are a man and go out there and do some other things . These guys have rejected you.”

Bahati ran under the Jubilee party and was hopeful that he would win. His political journey took a wrong turn when he started facing opposition from the coalition he was supporting, The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya. The coalition wanted him to step down from the race in favor of his main competitor Antony Oluoch, who ran under the ODM ticket and lost.

Despite the fierce opposition, it is fair to say that Bahati put up a strong fight though he lost.
