Wajackoyah angrily leaves Polling station without casting his vote

Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah failed to cast his vote after the Kiems kit failed to identify him.

Wajackoyah arrived at Indangalasia primary school in Matungu constituency at 10:10 am in a two-vehicle convoy but could not vote due to a technical error.

He engaged briefly with the presiding officer before walking out.

“I understand what it is, but how long should I wait to vote?” he posed.

Wajackoyah left the station without addressing the media.

He is the only presidential candidate who is yet to cast his ballot.

Failure of the KIEMs kits was reported in several other polling stations in Matungu constituency.

Voting was delayed for over four hours in Namulungu, Mirere and Namanga and Khalaba polling centres over failure of the KIEMs kits.

Anxious voters engaged the election officials in bitter exchanges claiming that it was part of the rigging plans.

Kakamega county Returning Officer (RO) Joseph Ayata said that the commission’s technical team was working to resolve the issue.
