DP Ruto’s Office Announces Mass Auction of Vehicles for as Low as Ksh 13K; How to Bid

The Deputy President’s Office has announced a large-scale sale of government vehicles and office equipment.

The DP’s office announced on Tuesday, June 7 that seven government vehicles of various models were ready for auction.

Bidders who are interested must submit a refundable deposit ranging from Ksh13,000 to Ksh40,000, depending on the model.

A deposit of Ksh40,000 is required for a Toyota Prado, while deposits of Ksh34,000 and Ksh30,000 are required for a Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest, respectively.

Those interested in purchasing a Nissan Urvan must pay a deposit of Ksh13,000, a double cabin will cost Ksh20,000, and those interested in purchasing a Mitsubishi Pajero must pay a deposit of Ksh20,000.

The final vehicle listed on the document is a Ford Everest with a Ksh21,500 deposit.

The office equipment listed include assorted tires, office chairs, computers, photocopiers, telephone heads and accessories, assorted kitchen appliances, assorted farm equipment and other scrap metals, and sofa sets.

Others include electronic power stabilizers, assorted plumbing materials, power interchange switches and TVs. For the office equipment, interested bidders will pay a non-refundable deposit of Ksh1,000.

“Prices quoted should be net, must be in Kenya shillings and shall remain valid for the period to be determined by the procuring entity from the closing date of the tender,” reads part of the notice.

How to Apply

Qualified and interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the items for disposal during office hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday except during lunch hours, weekends and public holidays.

The tender documents can be retrieved at the procurement office on first-floor wing B Room 11, Harambe House Annex, Nairobi.

The document costs Ksh1,000 payable to the Secretary Administration, Office of the Deputy President, in form of a bankers cheque or through cash at the cash office at Harambee House Annex, first floor during office hours.

All the items will be disposed off on an as is where is basis.

Duly completed documents must be deposited at the DP’s office in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the reference number.

Interested bidders ought to submit the documents on or before June 21, 2022, at 10.00am.

Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above or any deadline date and time specified later.

The applications will be publicly opened in the presence of all bidders’ designated representatives who choose to attend. Late applications will be rejected.
