“Please forgive me!” – Alfred Keter begs DP Ruto to pardon him over past ‘mwizi’ attacks

Days before the August 9 general election, the political battle between Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter and Deputy President William Ruto has heated up.

William Ruto, the presidential candidate for the United Democratic Alliance, visited the Rift Valley on July 24, bringing the Kenya Kwanza Alliance gospel to what is thought to be his political stronghold.

The deputy president begged Nandi Hills people to send Alfred Keter packing during his campaigning in Nandi County.

Today, during the interview with KASS FM, Alfred Keter pleaded with the deputy president to forgive him.

“I might have slipped at one time but if you forgave the likes of Bonny Khalwale who sponsored the motion to impeach you, Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, and Stephen Sang who were among those who coached ICC witnesses, Cate Waruguru, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi and many others who we welcome them to the fold to help you be the President, please forgive me,” Alfred Keter said.

The relationship between Keter and Ruto deteriorated in April 2022 after Keter’s victory led William Ruto’s party to declare the Nandi Hills parliamentary nominations invalid.
