Many people blocked from accessing Bomas as security is heightened

The counting and verification of presidential results are still ongoing, thus security has been increased at the Bomas of Kenya.

Since the counting started on Tuesday, August 9, the Bomas of Kenya have been bustling with activity as the electoral office works quickly to beat the seven-day constitutional deadline to reveal the official presidential results.

On Sunday, August 14, we conducted a spot check and observed a significant police presence at the building’s entrance.

No unauthorized individuals are permitted near the National Tallying Centre because the General Service Unit has been posted there.

At Bomas, access to politicians without credentials has been prohibited. They belong to the group that was barred from the auditorium or expelled from it.

Governor Anyang Nyong’o, James Orengo, and Edwin Sifuna were among those who were barred from entering the Bomas of Kenya precincts.

Kenyans are requested to take their food at the door or leave it there, as water and other liquids are not permitted inside the auditorium.
