Mother of murdered KIMC student tearfully shares Mother’s Day message she sent her

The mother of a young college student who was allegedly murdered just a few weeks ago has shared an emotional Mother’s Day message her daughter gave her just days before she died.

Purity Wangeci, Rose Nduta’s 19-year-old daughter, was found dead in Kiambu county on Saturday, May 14, 2022, and her lover was later recognized as the prime suspect in her murder.

The grieving mother, who is still coming to grips with her daughter’s death, spoke to Citizen TV about a wonderful note Wangeci sent her on Mother’s Day, just days before she died.

Nduta claims that her daughter truly showed her love for her and recognized the sacrifices she had made to bring her into the young woman she had become.

“On Mother’s day, there is a message she wrote to me. A lengthy Mother’s Day message which was the first I read that morning,” she said.

After reading Wangeci’s sweet message, Nduta was moved to tears.

“It made me shed tears because she had expressed herself totally in that message about the love she has for me and how besides being her parent, I was also her friend,” she said.

A screenshot of the WhatsApp message showed that Wangeci adored her mother and was grateful for the sacrifices she had made.

“On this beautiful day, I wish you a happy Mother’s Day. You deserve this day because you have been the strongest mum and no single day have you let me down. I always look upon you in everything I do, I always consult you because I have known you to be my best and close friend,” Wangeci wrote.

Sadly, she died in the most horrible manner five days later.

On social media, I found out about my daughter’s death. The news of Wangeci’s death reached her via social media, and she initially could not believe it, according to the grieving mother, who still has more questions than answers about how her baby daughter died.

“The news was broken on social media before they were even disclosed officially by the police. You can imagine they circulated all over. I was also a victim of the social media and it is my own daughter. I could not believe it,” she recalled.

Nduta painfully recalled her last WhatsApp conversation with Wangeci on a Friday when she died.

“In the afternoon, she told me she was out of class and was on her way to pick her driving licence,” she said.

She called on the government to intervene in her daughter’s case and help her get justice for her 19-year-old girl.
