After volunteering to hold the baby of a student who had to sit for an exam, a Machakos University lecturer touched hearts both in class and online.
The teacher is pictured carrying the infant on her back while invigilating the exam in a Facebook post by philanthropist Dennis Mbugua.
As the examination progressed, the baby slept soundly on the lady’s back.
A note posted along with the Facebook post read: “The lecturer picked up the innocent baby and continued invigilating the exam. This is extra mile…blessings beyond blessings, big up madam,” he said.
Mbugua, who was also impressed by the lady’s loving gesture, publicly appreciated her as well.
Content creator Duncun Mbuya, who also hailed the lady said: “This Ruth Mburu, a lecturer at Machakos University. When I met her several years ago, I could tell she was passionate about education and family.”
“She carries answer sheets whenever she goes, just to ensure she marks and delivers results on time.So she wasn’t pretending? May this child grow to be humble as Ruth. May her mother find favour after completing her studies. It is not easy to study when nursing a baby but she’s dedicated.”
