Kenyan content creator Kelvin Kinuthia has addressed the curiosity of numerous fans regarding his gender identity by stating that individuals should continue to recognize him as the gender they are already familiar with, without delving into further inquiries.
“Si I think this is normal so hata hakuna mtu anfaa kumiuliza mimi ni gender gani… Wewe ile gender unajua I am, just stick to that. Usiende kwa ingine,” he said.
Adding:
“Huwa sifeel weird because si ni mimi nimeamua na kichwa yangu mzuri nitavaa wig, nitavaa dress na nitoke nje? Why should I feel weird?” he said.
According to him names are not limited by gender and that he feels no discomfort in expressing himself authentically.
“Kitu watu hawahaelewi ni that even a girl can also be called Kinuthia. Could be a sir name ama jina yake ya tatu. Kuna watu wanaitwa na jina ya their fathers. Mi sionangi kiwa big deal because it’s a name of a person,” he said.
It is not the first time that Kenyans have questioned Kinuthia’s gender and her choice of love, people have been asking a lot of questions since the TikToker became famous in 2021.
She rose to fame about two years ago when rumors emerged that she cheated on another man after pretending to be a woman and later ate the fare of Ksh344k allegedly sent to him.
Last year, the 22-year-old content producer came out as male. During an interview with Mungai Eve, she said that playing female characters in her videos is just for fun and work.
Kinuthia noted that he has never denied his male gender. However, he made it clear that he is not ready to stop acting as a woman because that is his livelihood.
“I’m a man. But I said I can’t stop doing the things I’m doing because people have interfered with me saying I’m doing that and I’m a man. That’s what has brought me to where I am,” Kinuthia said.
She claimed that the female role that she plays has made her get jobs doing ads for women’s clothing and cosmetics.
“There is no such thing as I will start changing the character. Even people will leave. There are people who are already used to the way Kinuthia is. There is no place where I have ever said that I am not a man. It is work and that is what has brought me to where I am,” he said.
In another interview, he hinted that he plans to have his family in the near future.
However, he noted that he is not looking to venture into marriage soon but after about 10 years.
“Not this hour, maybe when I’m 30 years old when we’re done with life. This hour is to beat life and find money,” he said.
In the past, Kinuthia’s mother once said that she would be very happy when her son would send her daughter-in-law.
