Four months into her marriage to George Kordas, alias DJ Bonez, media star Kamene Goro discussed the possibility of having her first child.
During an engaging Questions and Answers (Q&A) session with her Instagram followers, Kamene revealed a lot.
When asked when she will give birth to her first child, Kamene replied that it would take a long time.
“Tunangoja mtoto hadi lini (When should we expect you to have a baby)?” Kamene was asked.
To which she replied, “Mtangoja (You will wait)……..”
In 2022, Kamene said most of her peers were asking her to start thinking about having children but she was not ready.
She emphasized good planning and financial autonomy before getting pregnant, saying women have to be deliberate with their lives.
“A lot of people have been telling me that I’m turning 30 and that it’s time for me to start thinking about having a child. I tell them, ‘Listen, I want my kids to go to a school better than the one I went to, which is going to be very expensive, money that I don’t have right now’,” said Kamene.
“I can’t afford to be pregnant now guys, no I am not doing it,” she added.
In another interview, the radio host said she is not ready to keep up with the sacrifices attached to child-bearing..
“Kids are not in my plan. It is a bit tedious and they are a lot of sacrifices and it is one I probably don’t want to make. Plus they are expensive, think of school fees, health care and more,” she said.
“I don’t want a little version of me. What will I do with a little version of me?” she piqued.
Further, the 29-year-old stated that the pregnancy journey is limiting and a lot more time consuming to her liking.
“This whole nine months thing looks like a lot of time, what I have heard about pregnancies is very scary. There’s the giving birth, it’s not an easy thing. I want to have full liberty over my life. I want to wake up and say, I want to go to Zanzibar,” she said.
