HELB announces scholarships worth 450K for Kenyan students; How to qualify

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced scholarships for Kenyan students pursuing postgraduate programs (Masters or PhD) in local public or private universities.

The value of the scholarship grant for Masters and PhD students is Ksh200,000 and Ksh450,000, respectively, according to a statement from HELB.

For a Masters program, the scholarship is good for two years, and for a PhD program, it is valid for three years.

All candidates must pay a Ksh3,000 non-refundable charge using the site’s portal’s payment tab.

“Do not pay any individual to process your Postgraduate Scholarship Application,” read part of the statement.

August 31, 2022, has been specified as the application’s due date.

The minimum undergraduate requirement for candidates for the scholarships is Second-Class Honors, Upper Division.

The applicant must have a letter of admission to a postgraduate university program, either full- or part-time.

How to Apply

The HELB Postgraduate Scholarship application form is accessible from the Student Portal upon registration.

The applicant is required to access, register and complete the Postgraduate Scholarship Application (PGSA).

Once done, click and submit the duly completed application then download and print the PGSA.

Proceed to have the PGSA duly signed and stamped by the relevant authorities and attach all the necessary documents as indicated in the checklist.

Scan the filled PGSA and all the attachments in PDF format as one document.
