Baricho High school teacher arrested for drugging, sodomising mentally ill man

Police in Kirinyaga have arrested a 43-year-old secondary school teacher for allegedly sodomising a mentally ill man.

According to Kirinyaga West police boss Moses Kosgei, the teacher was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly committing the crime two weeks ago in Sagana town.

The suspect is alleged to have lured the 25-year-old man with a bottle of beer which he spiked before committing the heinous act.

“The victim washes car in Baricho town. On the said day the suspect picked him up and offered to buy him a drink at Sagana town,” police said.

The victim is then said to have felt drowsiness after a few gulps of beer then the suspect took him to his vehicle and sexually abused him.

After the incident, the suspect allegedly dumped the unconscious man at the Sagana River.

“He thought he was dead after sexually abusing him and he dump him into the river,” Kosgei said.

“Fortunately he gained consciousness yesterday and was found by a group of women who were drawing water, He was found naked.”
