Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya, has been seen crisscrossing the country in recent days wearing the latest stylish and fashionable clothing.
Raila wore a fashionable sleeveless navy-blue jacket, a pair of pants, and Nike Jordan Air sneakers to a meeting with Mount Kenya Youth on Tuesday, October 12.
The Zimio La Umoja presidential candidate acknowledged the brains behind his appearance as two young men, Ali and Hillary, via his Twitter account.
One of the fashion designers, Ali, 20, told MkenyaLeo that he started his company in high school, making outfits for his classmates for extra money, and eventually opened his own shop after completing form 4 in 2019.
“I started an online business called thrift trendy which grew slowly where I later opened my first shop where the first stock was amounting to Ksh50,000,” Ali stated.
Ali, also known as Nairobi West Niccur, alleged that he met the former Prime Minister through a friend who invited him to his home in May of 2021.
“I met the former Prime Minister through my friend Hillary. I was really shocked when I saw Raila since he didn’t tell me that I was meeting him,” Ali noted
Before his friend Hillary joined him later, Ali stated that he is the founder of an internet business called Thrift Trendy.
During his initial visit, the passionate fashion designer claimed that he ended up selling some of his designs under the names La Beaste Designs and Sneakers.
He did not say how much the arrangement to dress Raila Odinga was worth, but he described it as lucrative.
He stated that he has been working with the former Premier since May 2021, and that he also dresses prominent personalities in addition to Odinga.
“I do dress other senior personalities through my brand LA BEASTE where I have dressed the likes of Babu Owino, Khaligraph Jones, Trio Mio, Masauti, Motif the don and Breeder LW and I am thankful to all of them for believing in my style and dream of inspiring the youth to be a better version of themselves,” he explained.
He highlighted that some of the challenges he is facing are due to the current pandemic.
“My biggest challenge is lack of support due to Covid-19 and more capital to expand our business into a franchise,” Ali noted.
The young businessman is now grafting ways to expand his business to the rest of the world.
“For now, I’m focusing on how to grow my brand to an international market, opening branches across East Africa and Africa at large and also focusing on inspiring the youths to become a better version on themselves,” Ali stated.
