Phelix Odiwour, widely known as Jalang’o, Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP), is overjoyed after his efforts to strengthen his area were recognized in a recent survey.
Jalang’o rushed to Twitter to celebrate his inclusion on the list of the top ten best-performing legislators as a first-time MP, according to research conducted by Leeway Africa Research Agency.
The former radio personality praised his Langata fans for acknowledging his work and for their unwavering support in him in a tweet.
“No 10 is not bad for a first-time Mp in 8 months! I am sure tukiendelea hivi we will soon take our rightful position!
Thank you my Langata people! Hapa ni kazi tu!” The first part of the overjoyed first-time member of parliament tweet read.
He went on to pass his congratulatory message to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who was classified as the overall best-performing member of parliament so far in the top 20 performing MPs list.

According to Leeway Africa’s research, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino takes the lead with a 75.6 percent rating, closely followed by his Runyenjes counterpart Karemba Muchangi who was rated 72.7.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro comes in third with a 70.2 percent rating, then Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek at 70.1%. Tigania East Mpuru Aburi comes in fifth position with 69.8%.
Of the 290 constituencies, only three female MPs out of the 29 elected made to the list. They include Kisumu West’s MP Rozaah Buyu was rated 65.8%, followed by Rangwe’s Lilian Achieng with 65.2%, and Bahati’s Irene Njoki.
Leeway Africa shared that they conducted the research in the first eight months when the lawmakers took office.
