Christina Shusho given new Kenyan name after thrilling concert
Days after arriving in Kenya, award-winning Tanzanian singer Christina Shusho was given a Kenyan name by renowned comedian Mwalimu Churchill.
According to Shusho, who was the main act at the Shusha Nyavu concert on New Year’s Eve, Churchill gave her the name Mwende.
The Kamba name Mwende denotes a spirit of pioneering. According to an explanation on the Myfirstnamerockls website, Mwende people are always naturally focused, goal-oriented, and born leaders.
When Christina was promoting her new song “Rebecca” with Mercy Masika, she disclosed her given name, which is Kenyan.
