Gachagua invites young lady who nicknamed him ‘Riggy G’ for dinner, promises to reward her

Rigathi Gachagua, the deputy president, is pleased with his new nickname “Riggy G” and intends to honor the woman who came up with the name.

On the evening of Sunday, October 2, The DP said that he had given his sons instructions to find the woman, Ivy Chelimo, for a special meal with his family.

He made this announcement in an interview with Citizen TV’s Waihiga Mwaura.

He added that he intended to use some of his Ksh1.22 million income to help Chelimo improve her own financial situation.

Gachagua said he was delighted with the moniker and that it was a touch more musical than his actual one.

Rigathi Gachagua was deemed to be somewhat challenging and melodic by a young woman.

“The young lady who decided that Rigathi Gachagua is a little bit difficult and not melodious, we need to give him the name Riggy G. To encourage our young people, I took up the name in strides. I have told my sons to look for that girl to come we have dinner.

“I want to encourage that young girl, I will see what I can do for her so that I can see, from my salary, if I can boost her a little bit to be able to do something,” he explained.

He further disclosed that rewarding Chelimo was part of a grand plan to offer support to talented young people to maximise their talents for maximum profits.

Reminiscing his own days of youth, Gachagua noted that it was difficult for you people to get mentors by the William Ruto-led administration was determined to help the youth chart their own paths of success.

“Our young people are phenomenal, talented and creative, nobody has ever given them a chance.

The William Ruto-led administration is saying that this is the day that we can allow our talented young people to convert that talent into a source of income,” he added.

Chelimo was recognised as the brains behind the nickname Riggy G because she was the first person to use the moniker on Twitter.

Since, the name has been likened to that of a young and upcoming rapper – further embodying the UDA administrations grassroots leadership style touted under the ‘Hustler’ umbrella.

In a past interview, Chelimo noted that she came up with the name by chance, in July 2022, while following the Running Mates interview that was televised countrywide.

“You know how you can’t actually mention a politician just because sometimes you don’t want that traction on your page.

“That was me then but I was like let me just mention him because he was winning the debate anyway,” she explained at the time.
