Microsoft appoints Kenya’s new country manager

Microsoft, a tech behemoth, has announced the appointment of Phyllis Migwi as the county manager for Kenya.

Microsoft recognized Phyllis as a business catalyst and leader who has fueled technological advancement over the past 20 years in a statement.

She has expertise in brand creation, marketing, program management, and strategy and operations leadership.

“I am delighted to welcome Phyllis to the Microsoft Africa Regional Cluster team as the new Kenya Country Manager. I am confident that her extensive experience in Technology in Africa will help us scale partner and customer business impact through the value of Microsoft Cloud. As a strong advocate of Africa’s potential, I believe that Phyllis is a critical addition in unlocking the unique opportunities on the continent” Africa Regional Cluster General Manager Wael Elkabbany noted.

Delivering effective company models, growth strategies, and ecosystem value creation are her areas of passion.

Prior to this, Phyllis worked for IBM as the Regional Hybrid Cloud and AI Leader-Africa Growth Market.

Ms. Migwi has a Bachelor of Commerce from the Catholic University of East Africa and an MBA from the Hult International Business School.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to play my part in Africa’s economic growth story. To position Microsoft as the premier partner for that growth, while developing the leaders who will overcome present challenges and build memorials for the future,” said Phyllis.

In the past, she has held executive positions in the fast-moving consumer goods and information technology sectors in North America, Europe, Africa, and India.

Kendi Ntwiga, who quit Microsoft in June 2022 to work as the global head of misrepresentation at Meta, is replaced by Phyllis.
