JUST IN: IEBC’s Wafula Chebukati Opposes UDA, ODM Party Nominees

All 79 political parties’ nomination lists were rejected by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) because they didn’t adhere to the predetermined selection standards.

The IEBC claimed in a statement dated Friday, July 15, that none of the parties followed the Elections Act’s requirements for gender equity and inclusivity.

The electoral commission ordered all political parties to amend and resubmit the aforementioned lists by no later than July 22.

At least forty-five (45) days prior to the General Election, political parties must submit to the Commission their separate party lists.

Political Parties will have their lists rejected if they don’t follow the established rules.
