KICC
The Kenyatta International Conference Centre is a 28 storey building fondly referred to as the” KICC” which was constructed in the late 1960s and opened its door in September 1973.
It was designed by the Norwegian architect Karl Henrik Nøstvik and David Mutiso.
The main purpose of this landmark is to promote the business of Meetings, Incentives travel, Conferences and Exhibitions also known as MICE.
It is located along Harambee Avenue opposite Nairobi County Assembly.
Afya Center
If you are lost in Nairobi City you will never miss this building.
This commercial highrise building also known as Afya Co-operative House is found along Temple Road next to Nairobi bus station.
With 21 floors with an estimated height of 71.24 m and painted light green in colour it easily stands out from Nairobi concrete jungle due to its high visibility.
Hilton Hotel
Built in 1969 (later renovated in 1997), the Nairobi Hilton is an iconic, 17-story building in Nairobi’s city centre.
It is located along Mama Ngina Street next to the stature of Kenya’s Mau Mau war veteran, Dedan Kimathi.
Anniversary Towers
Also known as Kenya Re Towers, this landmark found on the outskirts of Nairobi Central Business District is hard to miss due to the high number of traffic that is witnessed here every day.
It is located along University way facing the University of Nairobi.
It was completed in 1992 and has 26 floors (above ground) and is 79.86 m tall.
Britam Tower
If you see this skyscraper anywhere near and you are lost worry no more just know you are standing close to Kenya’s tallest structure.
Standing at 200 m with 31 floors (above ground) this architectural masterpiece was built in 2013 and completed in 2016.
It is a commercial building made of concrete and it is located in Upper Hill.
Cooperative Bank House
Its unique shape sets it apart from the rest of Nairobi sky scrappers.
it is shaped like a bell bottom trousers and is located along Haile Selassie Avenue next to US embassy bomb blast memorial site.
it has 25 floors above ground and majestically pierces the sky at 83.00 m.
It was opened for business in 1981but underwent renovations in 1999 after it was severely damaged by the 7th August 1998 bombing of the US Embassy in Nairobi, just a couple of meters away.
FCB Mihrab
This is Nairobi’s latest most iconic building.
You cannot miss it because of its beautiful architectural design with a strong Arabic feel in the architecture.
It is owned by the First Community Bank will host the bank’s headquarters once complete with the extra space leased to other businesses for office and retail use.
It is located along Lenana Road in Kilimani Area.
