The National Museums of Kenya has taken action to address the rumors surrounding the escape of snakes from their enclosure, which were believed to be caused by the heavy rains affecting the city.
The assertion that snakes and reptiles had managed to flee from the park and aquarium had instilled fear among some Kenyans, prompting them to urge the Museum’s management to tackle the issue.
In an official statement, the National Museum refuted the claims that reptiles were sighted roaming around Kijabe Street, Kipande Road, Ojijo, and the Goan Gymkana area.
“This is to inform the public that at the National Museums of Kenya, the safety and Security of all our live exhibits are paramount. Each exhibit is securely housed in its appropriate enclosure, guaranteeing its well-being and preservation. We welcome you to explore our rich heritage with confidence at the National Museums of Kenya. ” ended the statement.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall and strong winds will continue until Monday next week according to the Met Department.
