Saitabao Kanchory Accuses Chebukati of Being UDA’s Chief Agent During the Election

The Azimio party’s chief agent for presidential elections, Saitabao Ole Kanchory, has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman, Wafula Chebukati, of being the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party’s chief agent during the just concluded elections, which saw UDA’s presidential candidate William Ruto win the presidential seat.

Kanchory was speaking in an interview at KTN News yesternight.

According to him, Ruto won because Chebukati helped him rig votes in his favor during the final tallying process at the Bomas of Kenya, the national tallying center.

He accused Chebukati of allowing the UDA team to access the elections server and manipulate the votes to make it seem that Ruto had won the election.

He went on to claim that UDA had a clone of the IEBC server that was used to rig votes.

We have presented compelling evidence in our petition to show that there was a criminal scheme to manipulate the elections. We have shown, before the Supreme Court, that UDA essentially had a black server. In technology terms, that is a clone of the IEBC server,” said Kanchory.

He further revealed that the Azimio team had enough evidence to prove that Chebukati was the key culprit. He expressed confidence that Chebukati would be held culpable for trying to change the will of the people.

Kanchory’s accusations reflect Raila’s petition filed at the Supreme Court to annul Ruto’s win. Raila blamed Chebukati for committing fraud during the tallying process. According to him, neither he nor Ruto clinched the 50+1% votes, a requirement needed for one to be pronounced the winner of a presidential election.

In a rally in Mombasa yesterday, Raila claimed that the Supreme Court should punish Chebukati, annul Ruto’s win, and later declare him the president-elect.
