Dubbed ‘Occupy Parliament’, Kenyans protested over the Finance Bill which is about to be tabled in Parliament on Tuesday.

Dubbed ‘Occupy Parliament’ Kenyans took to the streets in Nairobi to protest.

Media Personality, Willis Raburu was among the several Kenyans who took to the streets in Nairobi to protest.

“We had to take a pause. Tumepatwa na teargas. However, Being together with like-minded Kenyans united towards one goal takes the sting out of life.

Beyond today, Kenyans must know they have the sovereign power! We are in charge of our destinies, we can make a change. You may not be out like we are , but collectively, our voices must be heard! #RejectFinanceBill2024,” he wrote on his X account.

Many Kenyans have been arrested for participating in the #OccupyParliament protests.

Police in plain clothes arrested protesters who were converging at various meeting points within the Central Business District.

Those who attempted to assemble outside the National Centre, National Archives, Kencom and Jeevanjee grounds were swiftly arrested.

The protest came ahead of the tabling of the Finance Bill, 2024 report by the National Assembly’s Finance and Planning Committee.
