President William Ruto has finally appointed the six judges for the Court of Appeal have been appointed.
Speaking on Tuesday, September 13, he said that in accordance with his pledge to uphold the judiciary’s independence, he will appoint the justices who were proposed by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for appointment in 2019.
The President also mentioned that he would preside over their swearing-in on September 14th.
“To further demonstrate my commitment to the independence of the judiciary, this afternoon, I will appoint the six judges already nominated for appointment to the court of appeal which was done three years ago
“Tomorrow. I shall preside over their swearing-in so that they can get on with the business of serving the people of Kenya,” he stated.
