Why Ghetto Radio cancelled DJ Fatxo’s interview unexpectedly
On Friday, August 18, Mugithi musician Lawrence Njuguna Wagura, better known by his stage name DJ Fatxo, encountered an unexpected setback during his arranged interview.
Due to what the radio station described as an outcry from fans who thought the interview was inappropriate, the interview was canceled.
Ghetto Radio took to Facebook to explain their decision. They expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
The station explained that the cancellation was prompted by the strong reaction from fans who found the interview distasteful.
They offered an apology to fans and explained that listeners come first.
“Ghetto Radio cancelled an interview with Lawrence Wagura Njuguna, alias DJ Fatxo. That was scheduled on Friday, August 18, at 7am and 8am
This is due to an online uproar from our fans, who felt it was in bad taste. As an organisation, we value our customers and our listeners, you come fast,” the organisation wrote in an official statement.
The development comes as a surprise since it is hardly a week after he was hosted at Citizen Radio by Willy M Tuva during Mambo Mseto Show.
The musician has also been on several other radio stations.
