Well-wisher builds descent house for Baringo woman living in granary after husband’s death
A grandmother from Baringo who had been living in a leaking granary, has all reasons to thank God after being gifted a brand-new, semi-permanent home, by the area MP Reuben Kiborek.
When Kimoi Ruto from Mogotio Ward in Baringo was finally given the new house, an improvement from the leaking, decaying shanty she was living in, she was unable to contain her emotions of pleasure.
The young Politician described how the old woman was living in a granary after her mud-walled home collapsed in a Facebook post.
The granary was in poor shape since the roof was leaking and in poor shape.
“Am greatly humbled to have had an opportunity to officially open a new house for Gogo Kimoi Ruto. Myself together with Community members of Lolbugo, Kiptoim and brother Sam Cheraisi who bought us seats we came together and built a Semi- Permanent House to Gogo Kimoi.
When her husband passed on, the mud house she was living in collapsed and she was forced to live in an old granary. The roof was leaking and in bad condition.”
Kiborek said that the project’s construction employees gave their all without receiving anything.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the committee that spearheaded the construction led by chair Jonathan Kursai madam treasurer, fundis who worked without being paid and all other members who participated. God will one day reward all those who contributed in whichever way. Together we stand, divided we fall. Show of unity and love to the needy is God’s command. All glory and honour to God,” he said.
