In a separate incident, President Uhuru Kenyatta also expressed his confidence that Raila Odinga and Martha Karua will jail thieves and corrupt politicians if Azimio gov’t wins.
Responding to his claims, Kenyan Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua said that Uhuru could not fight corruption because his family members and close friends were the beneficiaries of corruption in his government.
However, speaking during an interview with BBC, the former Prime Minister said he will jail President Uhuru Kenyatta in the event his government finds evidence linking him or members of his family to corruption.
When Raila Odinga appeared for an interview BBC, he promised to deal with everybody implicated in graft equally regardless of who they are should he form the next government.
“Nobody is indispensable in the war against corruption so we will deal with everybody equally,” Raila said.
Adding:
“I have not been working with the gov’t. I have only been advising from the outside. But my party has continued to exercise their constitutional mandade doing the oversight wiork in parliament.”
"Kenyans know that I stand very strong against corruption."
