Raila Odinga hints at going for presidency again in 2027

Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga has said that he is not going to retire from active politics any time soon.
While firing salvos at his political nemesis who have been piling pressure on him to retire from active politics and return to his rural home in Bondo, Odinga stated that nobody should decide for him when to quit politics.

He stated that he knows the direction to his home and will one day go back to Bondo only when he deems fit and not through pressure from anybody.

Odinga made the remarks at the home of his sister-in-law Tabu Osewe in Bondo constituency, where he stated the journey for the country’s liberation is still underway and he cannot leave it halfway.

The ODM leader assured his supporters that even though the journey has been long and tedious, there is hope at the end of the tunnel, and they will very soon achieve their ultimate goal.

He clarified that he has been silent to pave the way for a smooth process of the ongoing bi-partisan talks, saying that he had chosen to give the bi-partisan team ample time to conclude their deliberations uninterrupted.

Odinga stated that he will give direction once the bi-partisan talks are concluded adding that they shall decide whether to return to the streets or not, depending on the outcome of the dialogue.

The former Prime Minister was flanked by governors James Orengo (Siaya) and Ochilo Ayacko (Migori), Senators Oburu Oginga (Siaya) and Eddy Okech (Migori) together with several MPs.
