Ugandans on Twitter (if there is something like that) are on fire over allegations that celebrated singer Weasel physically assaulted his girlfriend, Sandra Teta.
The story came to the public attention after photos of Sandra’s swollen face became viral on social media. Reports emerged that Weasel and Sandra had been involved in a heated argument that led him to him up.
As a society trying to free itself from gender violence against women, most online users came out to sympathize with Sandra, with many of them subjecting Weasel to online bash.
The most catching reaction against Weasel was one by Oner Apple Addict. He posted a beautiful picture of Sandra and punching bad, with a caption saying,
“what we see vs what Weasel sees.”
While most Twitter users were mercilessly smashing the musician, one user identified as Paul Webzi begged to differ.
He claimed that the allegations against Weasel were untrue. He proceeded to explain that Sandra had been attacked by thieves who robbed her mobile phone and she had been on treatment for a week.
“That lady wasn’t beaten by Weasel. She was attacked by a gang of robbers who beat her and fled with her gadget too. A source says she has been on treatment for a week now. The claims that Weasel beat her has been false allegations,” he wrote
The confusion deepened when Sandra confirmed that Paul’s account was true. She explained that she was attacked by unknown goons who stole her phone, handbag, and 1.3 million. She went on to explain that the incident had happened a week ago and was still recuperating from the hospital. She urged her fans to disregard the ongoing reports that Weasel had assaulted her.
Ugandans on Twitter did not believe her account. Most of them claimed that she was covering for Weasel to protect his musical career. Some feared that Weasel had threatened her against revealing the truth.
@jabigi wrote, “if she keeps hiding his behavior, which we have seen before, they will keep beating her.”
@thinkittrue said, “nah, she is covering for him.”
Competent sources claim that the online uproar has influenced authorities to take up the matter and investigate whether Weasel assaulted Sandra or thieves as she claims.
