Several people feared dead after Pwani University bus collides head-on with matatu in Naivasha
On March 30, a bus carrying Pwani University students overturned in the Kayole region of the Nairobi-Naivasha Highway, injuring several of the passengers.
According to accounts, the bus was transporting more than 30 kids to Eldoret for a sporting event.
After the catastrophe, students were seen on camera helping one another from the rubble.
The bus collided with a 14-seater matatu before it overturned.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident was caused by the brake failure of the bus. However, the same is yet to be confirmed.
Following the incident, police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to restore the flow of traffic after a snarl-up was experienced on the highway.
Motorists plying the route were also advised to exercise caution as they approach the area.
