Professor Hamo to reunite with baby mama Jemutai in UK event

Several of the Kenya’s best comedians, including Professor Hamo, Teacher Wanjiku, YY Comedian, and Jemutai, will take the stage for the first-ever Kenyan Comedy Show on September 2, 2023, in London, United Kingdom.

The event will be held at the Royal Regency Hotel, and prominent Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones, who will be performing for the first time in Europe, will also be present at the afterparty.

“What’s up London, what’s up my beautiful people. Oh my God, I’m super excited about this. At the Royal Regency, I will be performing there live. It’s going to be a night of laughter, pure stand up comedy right from Kenya to London, to the UK. I can’t wait for this,” said YY in the show’s promo.

The show will begin at 6pm and end at 11pm while the afterparty will take place from 11pm to 3:30am. However, the afterparty will be a standing event with only fe pre-booked seats and tables.

The discounted tickets that will allow one entry into both events are currently retailing for 30 euros (Sh 4,697) but are set to increase to 60 euros (Sh 9,394) as the date closes in. The event organizers have a no refund policy in place for the 10 hours and 30 minutes event.

The event is being organized by the Kenyans in the United Kingdom, an association headed by Kenya’s Prince Otach.

Mr Otach is behind other Kenyan shows organized in the United Kingdom. In May 2023, he organized the Kenya Diaspora Festiva and its rugby sevens afterparty at the Royal Regency too.

The line up included Kenyan born British Sarah Ikumu, Boutross Munene, Femi One, King Kaka, Otile Brown and Jua Kali. It was touted as the biggest Kenyan concert ever held in the United Kingdom.

The event went off without a hitch but it would later emerge that Prince Otach differed with one artiste, Boutross, over pay and logistics, marring the event with drama as the two traded accusations online over who breached the contract that was signed between the two of them.

This will be Prince Otach’s comeback event following the Diaspora Festival.
