Peter Munya missing as DP Gachagua flags off cheap fertiliser to farmers
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has officially begun distributing discounted fertilizer to farmers all around the nation.

The practice was started by the DP on September 21 at Nairobi’s Harambee House Annex.
1.4 million bags of fertilizer will be available in National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depots in towns, according to Gachagua, who announced new rates.
“Our first pronouncement was to lower fertiliser prices to set the pace for the implementation of this intervention dubbed the fertiliser subsidy programme. The National Treasury has already availed KSh 3.55 billion towards this intervention. Many will benefit from this,” he said.
Under the programme, the government under NCPB will make 1.4 million bags of 50kg of fertiliser available to farmers during the ongoing short rains at the stipulated prices.
Following the directive, the new fertiliser prices stand at CAN- KSh 2,875, DAP- KSh 3,500, UREA- KSh 3,500, NPK-KSh 3,275, MOP- KSh 1,775 and Sulphate Ammonia- KSh 2,220.
