Police in Ikolomani Constituency, Kakamega County, have initiated investigations into the mysterious death of a 24-year-old man, leaving the local community in shock and confusion.
The lifeless body of the deceased, identified as Humphrey Achevi, was discovered in a lodging just hours after he had checked in with his lover.
According to lodging staff, Achevi arrived at the facility on Saturday, January 18, around 4:00 PM with his companion.
The two reportedly spent the evening at the bar, enjoying drinks before booking a room at 11:00 PM.
The tragic discovery was made on the morning of Sunday, January 19. Achevi’s body was found with blood oozing from his nose and mouth, as reported by KBC.
A lodging attendant revealed details of an interaction with Achevi’s lover, who first informed them of his death.
“I asked why the man’s body was wet, and she explained he had wet himself. She claimed there was no blood from his nose but acknowledged there was blood in his mouth. She appeared tense,” the staff member recounted.
Following this exchange, the woman vanished from the premises and has yet to be located.
“The lady who was with the deceased ran away, even though she had informed the staff about his death,” confirmed the lodging manager.
Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Achevi’s death, as the investigation continues.
