Festus Kithinji, the member of the county assembly (MCA) candidate for Mbeu Ward in Tigania, Meru County, is a disappointed man today after he lost the seat to his opponent in the ongoing elections.
Kithinji took to his TikTok account to express his heartbreak. In the video making round on the social media streets, Kithinji accused people of Mbeu Ward of lying to him that they would vote for him.
He claimed that he had done a lot for the people of Mbeu; hence they ought to have reciprocated his kindness by voting for him.
“You people are liars. You lied to me, calling me mheshimiwa, yet you knew you would never give me your votes…I have done a lot for you people.” he ranted.
He revealed that he joined politics in 2020 and had invested all his resources to win the seat.
He claimed that his people had started well by supporting him only to fail him when he needed them the most.
“About three years ago, I started a political journey. The start was very well, even the ending but people of Mbeu are not good. I did my best,” he said.
He went on to reveal that he had spent all his money and he left broke. To show the severity of his disappointment, he promised never to participate in harambees in Mbeu. He claimed that he would never his people again.
Regarding politics, Kithinji is planning to quit the game forever. He claimed that politics made him have hypocrites, people he thought would support him only for them to vote for his opponent after ‘eating’ his money.
