Residents of Eldoret were shocked when a 37-year-old man gave President William Ruto his family’s land as a congratulations on assuming power.
After giving the title document to the relevant municipal authorities to complete the transfer and register the stated land under Ruto’s name, motivational speaker Kimutai Choge even surprised his relatives.
Speaking on September 19th, Kimutai requested the head of state to establish the Dr. William Ruto Empowerment Academy and Resource Center as a youth empowerment and resource center.
The prime half-acre land is 300 meters from the main road and a few kilometers from Koitalel Samoei University College, which is located close to Mosoriot on the Eldoret-Kapsabet route in Nandi county.
“The best way to celebrate President Ruto’s victory is to give out my family land for the construction of a youth training centre to nurture talent and inspire discouraged youths and mentor those struggling with drug abuse,” he stated.
Kimutai envisioned the center as a first-rate rehabilitation center that could educate more than 400 young people from all around the nation.
The opening of the center, he continued, would lower the cost of renting social halls and conference rooms for youth organizing various empowerment gatherings.
Kimutai received praise from local authorities and Kalenjin elders for his donation, and they vowed to see the project through to completion.
Following the gift, Henry Rono’s Emgwen National Government Constituency Development Fund started urging the president to engage in conversation.
The establishment of the project, according to the locals, will serve as the beginning of Ruto’s legacy in the nation.
