Aspiring paralegal students can now apply for the Diploma in Law program at the Kenya School of Law (KSL) through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
This marks a significant step in expanding access to legal education, as KSL integrates its Paralegal Training Programme (PTP) into the KUCCPS system for the first time.
The application portal, accessible at https://students.kuccps.net/, was opened on January 24, 2025, and will remain open until February 14, 2025.
Eligible candidates include Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) graduates from the years 2000 to 2024. The selected students will commence their studies in May 2025.
The collaboration was officially launched at the KUCCPS offices in Nairobi, making KSL the 18th institution outside the Ministry of Education to utilize KUCCPS for student placement.
Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer, emphasized that the inclusion of KSL reflects the trust that institutions have in KUCCPS’s efficient and transparent placement process.

The Diploma in Law program is designed to fill the gap in legal support roles within law firms, corporate entities, and public institutions.
Speaking at the launch, KSL Director and CEO Dr. Henry Mutai highlighted the course’s role in preparing paralegals with a strong foundation in legal knowledge and skills.
He underscored that the partnership with KUCCPS will widen access to the program and contribute to national education and professional development goals.
Program Structure and Admission Criteria
Applicants must have at least a C (plain) in KCSE and a minimum of C+ in either English or Kiswahili. The program runs for two academic years, divided into three terms per year, each lasting 12 weeks.
A three-month internship at the end of the second year allows students to gain practical experience in the legal sector.
The tuition for the first-year amounts to Kshs. 131,000, payable in three installments: Kshs. 47,000 for the first term, and Kshs. 42,000 for the second and third terms. The second-year fees total Kshs. 136,000, following a similar payment structure.
