How Jeff Koinange’s wife helped him join K24 TV
Rose Kimotho, the creator of Regional Reach Limited, recently gave details about her strong working connection with Citizen TV news presenter Jeff Koinange and the effort it took to get him to join K24 TV back in 2007.
Kimotho added that it was difficult for her to persuade Jeff, who was working in South Africa at the time, to join a new business.
Three Stones Limited, which launched Kameme FM in 1999 and K24 TV later that year, claimed that she needed to speak with Jeff’s wife, Shaila, to make the transfer a reality.

Kimotho, a media entrepreneur, was speaking at a surprise celebration hosted by Kenyan broadcasters to recognize her contributions to the Kenyan media business.
“I remember begging Jeff, he made me beg him. He was in South Africa, he told me he was not sure about taking up the job and asked me to speak to his wife.
“I phoned the wife the next day. She asked what I was starting, and told her it’s a station called K24, and that we will be doing news. She said she was not too sure and asked how much he would be paid,” she explained.
Jeff later joined K24 in December 2007. Kimotho heaped praise on Jeff, commending him for his strong work ethic.
“I have not come across anyone in this country with Jeff’s work ethic, he used to produce and edit a show every night and he never failed to show up.
“The youth today expect things to be put on a plate when I was young, nobody told me that I will be given something on my plate. We have to work for things and that’s the message we should tell the youth,” she explained.
Jeff left K24 in December 2012 where he hosted On the Bench show and joined ARISE Television in Johannesburg, South Africa before joining KTN months later.
