Relationship with Sakaja
The two have been friends for long. In 2018, when Maribe was taken to Milimani Court over Monica Kimani murder, the senator showed up in court to show solidarity with her.
He later spoke about their friendship, saying:
“Jacque Maribe has been my friend since high school. I have no apologies to make for standing with her,” Sakaja responded.
“Before I’m a senator, I am a human being who has friends. If you are my friend, I will stand with you no matter which position you or I hold,” he added.
Among the people who showed solidarity with Maribe is gospel singer Kambua, former PSCU director Dennis Itumbi and Citizen TV senior anchor Francis Gachuri.
