According to an opinion survey conducted by Intel Research Solutions (IRS), Deputy President William Ruto would win the general election on August 9 with a nearly lopsided margin.
According to Kenya’s constitution, in order to be deemed lawfully elected as president, a candidate must receive at least 50+1 percent of the total number of votes cast.
And according to IRS projections, 50.5 percent of voters would choose Ruto to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila Odinga, his bitter political opponent, would rank second with 44.2 percent.
