On Friday, March 17, Hellen Daniel, a former security guard, went viral after sharing the story of how she converted her parents’ temporary mud hut into a three-bedroom home.
The woman claimed in a post on her social media that she first constructed a circular mud house for her parents while working in the security industry.
Hellen disclosed that she had begun making plans to construct her parents’ home when she was a young woman looking for a formal job. She had a brief period of employment as a housemaid.
She subsequently transformed the mud house into a temporary mud construction that had been plastered over.
But after she had a job, she built a three-bedroom brick house. Hellen stated that her spouse contributed to realizing her family’s ambitions.
“A lesson, your today will never be your tomorrow if only you keep your dreams alive, you’re focused, you’re determined, you’re a go-getter, you’re persistent in prayers, and never despise your humble beginnings.
“We did a house handover to my parents, a spacious three-bedroom self-contained house. All thanks to my love for making this dream come true. With God everything is possible,” she stated.
She also shared videos of the handover showcasing the big moment with their family.
During the occasion, Hellen surprised her parents with a mini party and a cake decorated with the words ‘thanks, mom and dad’.
She also furnished the house with modern living and dining room furniture.
After sharing the video of the house, Kenyans on social media were amazed by the home’s transformation. A section of online users also thanked her for remembering her parents after she succeeded.
“I rarely comment on TikTok but this is truly a true definition of determination, perseverance and most importantly trusting in God. Congratulations,” Edna Wanjiku commented.
“Most legitimate and inspirational video I have seen on this app. Actions, not words,” Jine Kamu stated.
