Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dennis Itumbi has finally spoken about his kidnapping ordeal that occurred two years ago.
Itumbi was kidnapped from Kiambu’s Thindigua area after an appointment with his barber before he was bundled into a salon car and driven away.
He was later found dumped naked in Lucky Summer after being tortured.
Earlier today, activist Boniface Mwangi asked Itumbi to expose the police officers who were involved in kidnapping him, so that actions can be taken against them.
“Hey @OleItumbi, since now you’re in government, can you make public the names of the police officers who kidnapped you, on whose orders and have them held accountable? If we want to stop extrajudicial killings and police kidnappings, those responsible must be held accountable,” he wrote.
Itumbi replied to him saying he had forgiven all of them with their families.
“I forgave them. I prayed for them and their families. They beat, maimed me, and believed I would never walk or see again.
I am still nursing the effects of their senseless whipping. But God has set me apart and blessed me. Their mission FAILED. A few places are still healing. But, they stand FORGIVEN!
Adding:
I actually sent them all and the FOUR top officials who coordinated the December 2021 kidnapping an SMS and a WhatsApp message telling them I know what they did and the evidence of the role they played.
Each message ended with the phrase “You Are Forgiven!” – But I will tell of their brutality and the journey to forgiving them as my way of healing.”

Itumbi was key in Ruto’s ascension to power in the August 2022 General Election, masterminding a spirited campaign behind the keyboard that saw Ruto become the fifth President of Kenya.
Previously, Itumbi had also played a key role in former President Uhuru Kenya’s win in the 2013 and 2017 elections. Itumbi positioned himself as a key digital strategist and later as chief propagandist for the Jubilee administration.
During his days with Kenyatta, before they fell out, Itumbi defended everything that State House did and said, and was ready with his keyboard to attack whoever opposed the government of the day.
From laying down digital strategies that indeed worked for both Kenyatta and now Ruto, Itumbi has earned himself the status of a key maker of presidents.
