A witness who was inside Monica Kimani’s apartment on the night she is believed to have been murdered has given details of his interactions with Jowie Irungu who is on trial for the murder.

The witness, Lee Omondi, narrated that he felt scared after they discussed insecurity issues and he conveyed that he would like to own a gun.

“Joe is the one I left at Monica ‘s place the night she was killed. He described himself as a security person working with Interpol and at the Office of the President. He offered to get me a firearm,” Omondi narrated.

He stated that he had gone to Monica’s Lamuria Apartments house to collect a log book she had helped him get processed and that he had found Jowie and another man introduced as Walid already at the apartment.

Omondi expounded that Monica had noticed Jowie in a kanzu and remarked that he did not normally wear one.

“Jowie said they had an operation in Lamu and had brought an undocumented person from lamu to Nairobi. He even said he had taken a house in Eastleigh for the operation,” Omondi narrated to Justice James Wakiaga.

19-year old Komora was said to have gone to pick a passenger at the military compound when a soldier mistook him for a trespasser.

Solddiers at the Mtongwe Barracks are usually on high alerts after several incidents of attempted terrorist activities in the area.

In June this year, two suspected terrorists accidentally blew themselves up on Sunday night while making a bomb at a house in Likoni, which is close to the Mtongwe Navy Barracks.

Police said the mutilated body was discovered by herders who were grazing their livestock at the crater on Saturday evening.

Wangui’s family attribute the murder to a love triangle between her and Muchiri with whom they separated ten months ago.

Her brother Joseph Mwangi said Wangui informed her siblings that she was meeting a friend in Nakuru town on Sunday evening, but she did not reveal who the friend was.

Singer Akothee has disclosed the reason as to why she walked out of relationships with fathers to her children.

Speaking to Pulse Live, the mother of five said she had to leave because the relationships had become toxic to her kids.

According to Akothee, she did not want to look vulnerable before her children and all she wanted was to be the one empowering them by assuring them that all was fine. This would not happen if the kids saw her crying.

I always say I only have my kidney with me because my heart was already damaged long time ago… and reason as to why I left some of my past relationships is because I realized the relationships were toxic to my children. I did not want to be in a situation where my children would see me crying, I didn’t want my children to see me kama kuku imenyeshewa. I only wanted my children to see that vibrant mother because it’s only me that can give my children an okay that mama it is fine. But if every time I cannot even have the energy to empower them because someone is draining my energy, I walked out a long time ago,” she said.

This is the first time the Abebo singer is revealing why she had to leave her baby daddies to be a single mother of five.

Akothee has three daughters with her first husband and two sons who both have different dads. The videos shared by Madam Boss on social media also indicate that she has a good relationship with the father of her last born son, even after parting ways.

The man who is a former Kenyan ambassador to France lives with the two boys and one of Akothee’s daughters in France where they also school.

Busia Senator Amos Wako has been denied entry into the US over alleged involvement in corruption.

In a press statement by Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, Senator Wako, his wife Flora Ngaira and son Julius Wako were banned from entering the country and doing business with it over corruption allegations while he was attorney-general.

Today (Monday), the Department designates former Kenyan Attorney General Amos Sitswila Wako due to his involvement in significant corruption,” read part of the statement.

“In addition to the designation of Mr Wako, the Department is also publicly designating Wako’s wife, Flora Ngaira, and son, Julius Wako,” it continued.

Second time banned

This is the second time Mr Wako has been banned from setting foot in the USA.

In 2009, the USA announced that Mr Wako had been banned from the country because he was considered an obstacle to the fight against graft.

At the time, Wako said during a press conference he planned to take legal action against the US because the reasons it gave for revoking his visa were defamatory.

Pompeo stated that the action will send a strong signal that the United States is a valuable partner in Kenya’s fight against corruption.

Economic prosperity for all Kenyans is only possible by defeating the scourge of corruption, which also requires a functional, fair, and transparent criminal justice system,” he said.

Mr Wako may still be allowed onto US soil if he visits as a member of the Kenyan delegation to the UN meetings or if the UN invites him, even though his movement could be restricted.

Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter, Abby Ruto, is among the 9770 KCPE candidates who excelled with over 400 marks.

According to Abby’s mother, Prsica Bett, Abby scored 406 marks out of the possible 500 marks.

God you are Ebenezer, you Grace is sufficient! 406 it is…Glory to God,” she joyfully posted on Facebook.

In early 2017, Ms Bett grabbed national headlines after she sued Ruto for child support for her daughter who was then aged eleven.

Ruto came out to publicly acknowledge siring the child in 2006 but claimed that the allegations of not providing for his child were being peddled by his political detractors and irresponsible men who had also sired children with Ms Bett.

My 11 year old child Abby is well catered for including her education in private boarding school. Politicians& Busybodies should keep off. For the record I did find Abby’s mother a 90k-a-month job,40k monthly upkeep ever since. She went ahead to get her own 3 other kids though. The other father/s should be men enough and look after their kids. Trying blackmail for me to cater for other men’s children won’t work,” Ruto said in statement published on his Twitter account.

How to get the 2019 KCPE results

The results of the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams have been released by Education CS George Magoha.

Speaking during the release of the exams in Nairobi, Magoha noted that cases of cheating have dropped, with nothing noteworthy to report on.

1,083,456 students sat for the exams, with 18 counties registering more female candidates. Compared to the 2018 exams, candidates improved in four subjects, English, Kiswahili and Kenya Sign language and Social Studies and Religious Education.

Even though the overall performance is an improvement from last year’s exams, there was a drop in perfomance in Mathematics and Science.

President Uhuru Kenyatta receives the results.

Nairobi, Kakamega and Nakuru counties had the highest candidature, respectively.

Magoha further reassured all the candidates of admittance in high schools in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive.

“We will ensure that the placement process is quick, fair and transparent,” he said, adding that “by December 2, every candidate should know the school they are going to.”

How to get results

Candidates can get their results from their examination centres or by simply texting ‘Index Number KCPE’ to 20076.
