Amber Ray Dismisses Claims She Is A Bad Example to Her Son: “I Am Strict on Motherhood”
Socialite and businesswoman Amber Ray has dismissed claims that she is a bad example to her son, Gavin.
Speaking to Mungai Eve when she was launching her new music label, Amber, whose official name is Faith Makau, claimed that she puts her motherly role before anything.
She said that her online stunts and scandals do not affect her role because she is a strict mom, contrary to how netizens think she spoils her son too much. She revealed that she controls everything her son does, and she would do so until he turns 18 years old.
“As much as I am Amber Ray, I’m a mother and I control everything as a mother until he gets to 18 years,” she told Mungai Eve.
She went to disclose that she and her son maintain a very close relationship. She praised him for understanding her and being mature.
She said, “We have a very good relationship …… He is so understanding and mature. He knows me.”
Amber attributed the secret of her good parenting skills to her realness with her son. Contrary to her parents, who never showed her the bad side of the world, Amber explained that she wanted to teach her son about the good and bad sides of the world to make him more independent.
She disclosed that her parents’ parenting style of not showing her the bad side of the world had deceived her into believing that all people are good, and it had cost her a lot.
” I wish my parents told me about the bad side of life and people. I grew up knowing everyone was good and it has cost me a lot,” she opened up.
Like many parents, Amber does not want her son to suffer her fate. She promised to ensure that she is real to her son by exposing him to both sides.
“I will make sure I tell him (Gavin) the truth because I want him to grow independently, knowing all about life,” she said.
