With his spectacular entrance, comedian Eric Omondi sent worshipers at a Rongai church into a frenzy.
The comedian was greeted joyfully in a setting that was nearly reminiscent of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Omondi entered the packed church in the dusty Rongai neighborhood while wearing a checkered suit and a pair of pricey Alexander McQueen footwear.
Before hugging the pastor, who screamed blessings to him, he respectfully greeted churchgoers as he made his way to the front of the building of God.
Omondi captioned his Instagram video:
“We preached the word today. Restated the importance of restoration and revival amongst our gospel artistes.”
Here are some comments from Kenyans:
2mbili: “Na mkumbuke Yesu atarudi kama mwizi.”
Bettymuteikyallo: Yani hivyo tu ati ndio utaingia heaven? 😅😅
ohhitslucky: Sasaa hizo salamu zote ni za nini church surely?
chris_m_ke: Hadi viwete wakasimama, Hallelujah👏
Pastor Ng’ang’a tells Eric to start own church
Recently Pastor James Ng’ang’a urged Eric Omondi to repent as he can tell there was a prophet in him.
This is after Omondi’s claims that gospel singers in Kenya have lost morals and no longer preach the true gospel.
In a video shared on Instagram by the veteran comedian, the man of God confessed that he never liked Eric but hearing him speak about the gospel industry made him re-think the way he viewed him as God was speaking through him.
“Sijui kama ulijua nani alikua anaongea ndani yako. But the way you acted, ilikuwa mimi sikupendi. Nilikuwa sikupendi Omondi. Lakini vile umeongea mimi ni mzee, vile umeongea nimeskia ni roho ya Mungu imekutumia kufikia waimbaji. Kama ungetubu Eriki Omondi, uokoke, you’re a very strong preacher,” he said.
He told people who know the comedian to tell him that he knows the comedian has a great ministry within him and that he needs to stop clout chasing.
“Hivyo nimekuona ukiongea hapo, I have never seen you. Huyo ni nabii alikuwa anaongea ndani yako. Huyo si yule Eric najua. Mimi sikuwa nakupenda lakini vile nimeskia umeongea hapo umekemea wale waimbaji wengine, mimi nimeskia ni Mungu anaongea,” he added.
He mentioned that whatever Eric is going through he also has gone through I. The past and had his fair share of falling.
“Kila mtu ana utoto yake. Nilianguka nikiwa mhuburi. I can understand ata kama ulifanya nini, I can understand,” he said.
He validated Eric’s claims that gospel artistes have brought prostitution to the church which has affected many people.
“I wish Eric unaweza niskia mahali ulipo. Ukona huduma kama hii yangu. Kubwa,” he added.
