Kenyan actor Alphonse Makokha has expressed anger after being a victim of theft during Jahmby Koikai’s funeral, a chaotic event marred by rowdy youths.
In a video on Instagram, Makokha warned those responsible for the theft.
“Unajifanya we ndio unajua sana lakini tumekukemba mtu wangu! Ikiwa ulinimangia tenje yangu my friend, we huna bahati. Huna bahati sana.
Lakini pia sisi ni geng au sio? Ni vile tu, sawaa? Kaa rada jo cause tunakukamia. Na sii tafadhali. Au sio. Wazi mbwekse!
(To the person who stole my phone, you think you’re smart, but we’ve identified you! If it was you who took my phone, you’re unlucky. We are also a gang. Stay alert because we are coming for you. And it won’t be a polite approach. Right? That’s clear!)” he concluded.
Fans of actor Makokha expressed sympathy and humor in his post, expressing support and light-hearted jokes, expressing distress over the incident just days after burying his wife.
The incident happened just a day after Makokha buried his wife at the same venue.
Purity Wambui, Makokha’s wife passed away on June 1 after a long battle with cancer.
She was laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery on June 13, 2024.
On the other hand, Comedian Eddie Butita, Njugush, and his wife Celestine Ndinda were also forced to flee after being confronted by rowdy youths at Jahmby Koikai’s burial ceremony.
The said incident happened at a time when Jahmby’s body was being to her final resting place.
In an exclusive video captured by Mpasho, the three could be rushing to their car to escape from rowdy youths who were chasing them.
As soon as they got into the car, they crowded around it, forcing the group to speed off from the area to escape the mob.
Njambi’s funeral which was held today at the Lang’ata Cemetery, was a solemn affair as friends, family, and fans gathered to bid farewell to the beloved media personality, Jahmby Koikai.
The ceremony, meant to be a quiet and respectful homage, took an unforeseen twist when a group of young men started mobbing celebrities.
