Dorea Chege, a Kenyan actress and media figure, recently revealed her pregnancy with a touching selfie video on her Instagram stories.
The actress could be seen lovingly patting her growing baby bump in the event video, which was captioned “Happy and pleased.”
The 29-year-old actress had previously spoken candidly about her desire to conceive a family with DJ Dibul (Dickson Ndegwa Nyathore), and even joked about the idea of naming their child Wendo.
She expressed her eagerness to have children, saying “Having kids is definitely the plan, I want one, he wants three, and I think that’s one too many. I guess we will have to fight on that haha!”.
Chege has spoken at length in various interviews about her deep admiration for her fiancé, whom she met while working in the entertainment industry.
She has praised his reserved nature and simple outlook on life, qualities that she finds immensely attractive.
Despite her initial reluctance, the couple ultimately decided to make their relationship public after blogs began speculating about their status.
“I never intended to make my relationship with him public, but circumstances forced me to. He is famous amongst the Kikuyu audience, and so when we started dating, it was difficult to keep it private because blogs soon started speculating. We wanted to control our narrative, and so we made the decision to go public”, said Chege.
Chege is clearly head over heels in love with her partner, and has stated unequivocally that she will “absolutely marry this man.”
However, the couple’s plans for the size of their family differ, with Chege admitting that they do not see eye-to-eye on this matter.
Nonetheless, the couple has been approached by various brands for lucrative partnerships due to their immense popularity and notoriety, leading to unanticipated benefits.
Chege has expressed her delight at the prospect of earning money with her loved one, saying:
“It’s been a pleasure dating him; I had no idea our going public would earn us money. Are you aware of how satisfying it is to earn money with a loved one?”
